My client is an independently owned, chartered financial planning practice with offices in London and Cheltenham. They offer professional financial advice to private individuals primarily in the south of England and offer different service levels to cater to a varied client bank. The company believe that in order to offer the most professional service to their clients, they need to be highly qualified and it is therefore their aim to have all financial planners and paraplanners chartered. They have invested heavily in employees who wish to study and improve their knowledge through taking exams and continue to do so. They have progressed employees from administration to advisory roles and always try to encourage internal promotion. Due to significant growth plans, they do need to attract top talent within the industry to their business and they seek a chartered paraplanner to join them in their London office. Their growth has primarily come from successful acquisition and they now wish to grown their £11bn FUM to £13bn FUM by 2019.
The role will be to support their field based chartered financial planners with the ongoing servicing of their exising client bank. The advice provided to clients is quite complex, tends to be investment orientated and quite personal to each individual. Their paraplanners need to have a strong understanding of investment principles, regulations, products and services as well as a sound knowledge of all other areas of financial planning including retirement planning, estate planning, pension and protection. Not only will the paraplanner need to have a high level of education within the industry (Level 6 qualified), but a demonstrable record of having previously worked as a paraplanner. They need someone who can hit the ground running when they join, and immediately get involved with research, building recommendations and producing suitability reports.
To be considered for the role you will need:
- To be Chartered in the provision of Financial Advice through the CII
- Have a demonstrable track record of previous paraplanning experience
- Have a desire to remain in a paraplanning role
- Be a Technical thinker with strong analytical skills and an ability to think outside of the box
