We are working with a city based IFA that was established in 2011 by three partners who between them have on average over 30 years’ industry experience. They have grown their business over the last six years and now have 15 advisors that offer full financial and wealth management advice to a variety of both private and corporate clients, assisting with clients’ protection, pension, investment and mortgage needs. The majority of their clients are based in London or the live in the Home Counties, most of whom are HNW with large investment and pension portfolios.
They have seen a large increase in the number of clients requiring sophisticated pension advice. In order to turn this business around quickly but professionally, they need a pension specialist to work alongside one of their partners and currently the only Pension Transfer qualified individual in the business.
The main responsibilities of the role include: preparing ETVAS reports, preparing DB Suitability reports, Checking all types of pension switches/ transfer, suitability reports and providing feedback to Advisors and assisting the Managing Partner and Business Quality Manager with pension business monitoring/ case checks and pension technical queries.
The role holder must be client focussed, self-organised and able to work independently within a small team. The ability to manage their own time effectively and produce accurate work is essential.
Knowledge of back office systems, particularly Intelligent Office or similar IFA back office systems is highly desirable & advantageous. In addition, the role holder is expected to be fully computer literate and have good knowledge of Outlook, Word & Excel.
Essential knowledge/qualifications
- G60 or AF3, R08 (Pension update); Dip Pfs and progress towards Advanced Diploma would be an advantage
- Knowledge of FCA rules relating to DB transfers
- Systems: O&M pension profiler, Selecta-pension or similar
- Demonstrable, up to date relevant professional development
- Market & industry awareness of legislative/regulatory developments as they affect pensions & advisers
